THE REAL REASON FOR CAMP
In the past 20 years that I have been here at Shamineau, I have witnesses first hand and heard stories from staff of so many ways God has worked here. As the marketing director, I am one of the people that is responsible for sharing these stories with you. Generally to promote summer camp, we make a clip style video showing all the fun things to do at camp, which is great and really fun to see. Then we share about what God is doing at camp which is the real reason we exist, to share the Gospel and encourage people who come here to grow in their walk. Recently, I was inspired by a seminar I sat in by Donald Miller about how to better tell a story. While sitting there, I imagined a commercial type video that would let you get a glimpse of exactly what happens here at camp. It was both really cool and strange when I was behind the camera shooting a part of this video. Its like I was there. Without ruining the video, I think you will recognize the part I am talking about. I got chills as I looked through the view finder. I'm not always there when these great God moments happen, but its like was there for that one. We recently finished it up and I am pretty excited to share it. Take a look, enjoy and share it.
