SLIP N SLIDE AT SENIOR HIGH CAMP

Senior high camp, or Encounter, is always a highlight every summer.  You could read the brochure text if you want, but the jist of it is this... We want to help these soon to be adults prepare for life in a world that throws a lot of difficult stuff at them.  I think that as technology has and does advance, many difficulties are presented to them at a much earlier age.  We also want to give them as many life skills as possible and of course Bible teaching to wrap it all in.  The best question we could hear is, "what does the Bible say about this"?  So we do our best to give them the best tools to equip them for life with a Biblical perspective.  We pack a ton in, but we also find time to have some serious fun.  A lot of times one of our activities revolves around a slip n slide something.  The photo above is from last year's 600 foot slip n slide, the whole length of the snowboard park, pretty fun.  We have also played slip n slide kickball and slip n slide spoons.  Still thinking of this year's option to carry on the tradition.  Another goal for Senior High Camp, and really all of our camps is to give them an experience they just can't have anywhere else.  Or we take a normal thing and "plus it", or make it better.  So by the time the week is over, the campers become great friends, seems like it was a month long and still one of the most likely comments is that they wish it was longer.  It has been fun also to see some of these kids go on to be leaders in ministry, some even here at Shamineau.
