COMMON JOY!

So summer is upon us, that means I have a couple interns that will be contributing to this blog.  You will know by the initials at the top of the posts that they write.  This is one of them, from Emma.

On Sunday morning the staff of camp and the congregation of Lincoln Evangelical Free met for a service in Oak Hallow. The church of Lincoln, located a few miles away, has been long time partners of Shamineau. For the last few years, members of Lincoln have come together and walked on the property every single day of the summer, praying over our ministry.

The commissioning service included prayer, worship and a staff adoption (members of the church commit to a handful of staff to pray for the entire summer). Out of the whole service the one phrase that stood out to me was "common joy". Pastor Don Reigstad made it known that Shamineau and Lincoln share the common joy of knowing the Lord. How cool is it that every believer can come from different walks of life and stages but share the joy of the Lord and desire to spread it. I am so excited to see how God uses the common joy shared by Camp Shamineau and those who are supporting us with prayer. This summer is already SO covered with prayer!
