NORTH RIDGE, IT'S OFFICIAL!
Yesterday afternoon was the closing for the new property, which we are currently calling North Ridge. The name is mostly descriptive, it's North of Ridge Road... makes sense. You see a couple of our board members signing the official documents to purchase 678 acres of beautiful land. In 30 years at the 90th reunion, we will all look back to this day, remember when we bought that land and there was nothing on it but trees?
We may have broke the record for most people at a closing but many of us just wanted to come along for support. After the closing, a quick prayer sesh (session), a little celebration and there we go. As I pulled back into camp at about 5:30, I saw a work crew of about 40 young and spry people walk across the road to get to work. Work on what? We are making a trail around the outside of the property to help keep our future campers on our property. So that is step one. And what's next? Still working on that but nothing major yet. Just a few trails and possibly some outpost camping spots.
So here is some super encouraging news. Already people have stepped up to give very generously and sacrificially! Almost $200,000 has been donated to this project! PRAISE THE LORD! Man that is awesome. If you would like to join in on this project, please give Herb a call at 320.232.8365 or email Herb@shamineau.org. It's so cool the more we learn about the land and the process how God IS and WAS so evident in the whole process. Of course this has been bathed in prayer (and please continue that) but I still get taken back sometimes how God's timing is so much better than ours, that He raises up people continually to give generously, and how the power of prayer is so effective.
Thank you for however you have been a part of this. If you aren't sure how you could help, just pause and pray. These are amazing times at Shamineau and we are so blessed and thankful!
