FAITHFUL SERVANTS
This is a photo of about 450 former staff and their families from our 60th Anniversary Staff Reunion. There were a ton of activities and stuff going on, but most of the weekend was filled with everyone having conversations, catching up and sharing memories. It was great to have people from every decade that Shamineau has been at this location. Some highlights of the weekend... Dave Auker, Sarah Auker and Herb Bloomquist each spoke at chapel, Joel Hanson led us in music and there was a bunch of memories shared, stories of how God worked and a look into future plans. Of course the biggest update is the purchase of the property (678 acres) North of Ridge Rd. We are calling it "North Ridge", makes sense... Another project that is much needed is what we are calling "Ironwood". It will be a housing building of 4 cabins together with bathrooms and a lofted area. It's pretty crazy to have these two huge things going on at the same time but we feel that we are following God's leading and believe that He will provide. I also want to deeply thank those who have have and do support camp both financially and in prayer.
One thing we are trying to do a better job with is connecting with Shamineau alumni. If you are a former staff member and haven't done so yet, please register at www.shamineau.org as alumni. That way we can keep you updated on what's going on at camp, so please spread the word if you would.
I really think by the time our 70th Anniversary rolls around, we will look back and be amazed at what God did with this place and the people here. I want to extend a huge thank you to all of you faithful servants that helped make Camp Shamineau what it is today. And out of that Rock Ridge and Shamineau International as well. I fell like I end more than half of my posts with this request but it's the single most important and easiest thing you can do. Please pray for Shamineau. God is blessing and moving, and the Kingdom is growing!
