A NEW SEASON...
It's that time of year. The weather is turning to cool and comfortable and we are cranking up retreat season. Last week we hosted our Encore retreat for adults 55 and older, had a great turnout and fun was had by all. This weekend is our Rejuvenate retreat for women. We truly hope that is it a weekend for them to get rejuvenated, to relax and have a great time. Then in October, we have Fall Fling weekends. They are busting at the seems. In the office we kind of just chuckle at the number of people signed up as it is just blowing our minds. Just a couple years ago we had four of them and it could range anywhere from 250 to 350 per weekend. Now, and this is why we chuckle, our lowest is just over 400 and the fullest is just under 500. That wasn't possible a couple years ago for a couple reasons. Oak Hollow, our main meeting room just wouldn't hold them. But now, thanks to your generosity, that room has been expanded to fit 600, so we are good there. Also, the facilities and volunteers crew are hustling to remodel and insulate cabins which helps house everyone in the non summer months.
Then we have Scrap n Stamp, Father & Daughter and Father & Son in the next couple months. Pretty much every weekend we don't have a programmed retreat, we will have a couple guest groups in. People often ask if we stay open all year round... The answer is, we sure do! It stays pretty busy around here!
A fun side note in the area of parent / child retreats... We have had requests for a while and are now finally able to put in a Father & Daughter summer camp. We have had two Father & Son camps for a couple years now and they have gone very well. So we will be adding Father & Daughter camp on the island July 19-21 in 2019.
As this season takes off, please pray for the following areas:
