STAFF SPOTLIGHT: MEDIA INTERN

When you think of Shamineau, what do you think of?  From thousands of evals that we get back, we see that our staff make a huge impact on our campers and their experience.  So I thought we would do these little staff spotlights so you can get to know them a little bit better.

Today's is the media intern for this year.  His name is Zach, he will be with us until at least the end of May.  He is from Watertown, MN, has gotten to know Shamineau by coming up with his youth group.  At first, it was all about playing broomball at Winter Wipe Out retreat, then he grew to love the worship times, speakers and fellowshipping with others.  Eventually he came up as a leader with his group.  About then thought he would like to spend a bit more time up here, so here we are.

Zach comes with some great experience in the area of photo, video and graphic design, among many other things.  As you can see from the photo above, he also has some pretty serious yo yo skills.  He placed 2nd in a state competition recently and if you give him a couple minutes to show you, you can see why.  I found myself thinking... didn't know you could do that with a yo yo...  Favorite color - turquiose, enjoys kayaking, playing piano or keyboard, some role playing video games here and there, is a MN Wild fan and likes snacks, especially licorice.  Feel free to send him some if you want.

When I asked what he was excited for about the internship, he said being pushed as a person, taking photos and making videos of people.  He has also so far enjoyed cross training in the different departments, even cleaning.

I though I would start off the year with Zach as he may be writing some posts, so now you know him a bit.  I have already appreciated his great attitude as he has hit the ground running.  Stay tuned for more spotlights and many other updates.
