STAFF SPOTLIGHT: ASSISTANT PROGRAM DIRECTOR

Lisa Anderson: Assistant Program Director

I am Lisa. My family consists of my husband and 5 kids. We are in the process of building a new house and adopting our 5th child! I am the Assistant Program Director here at Shamineau.

My first summer here was 1996 as an SMT (jr counselor). From there I have never quite left :)  I started on year round staff in 2002 and have served in the office, housekeeping and maintenance. I have been in my current position for over 9 years. I tell people I have the best job on the face of the planet and I believe that! I love what I do.

We do lots of unique projects on program. Our goal is to "plus" the previous idea and make it better! That may include making things glow, throwing things at youth leaders, building giant wheels to strap people onto, putting chickens, mice and snakes in tanks that peoples heads are in, and so much more.

Some fun and interesting things about me are that I have what you would call a hate for pyramids. Not looking at them but going in them (no I have never been in one). I don't like mosquitoes one bit. Every spring I make plans to move away from the mosquito haven we live in. I enjoy the outdoors and bowhunting. I once was on a competing puppet team. I love football of any kind, although I don't play much in my old age. I cheer for the Bears (I was born in Chicago, give me a break), the Vikings (I live here now) and the Browns (no reason, they just need some fans).

If I had 2 hours of free time.... huh... quiet.... I would nap!!!! For sure. I am also writing this coming off of a Fall Fling so that sounds so wonderful. My dream car is a big pick up truck, lifted and clean but old. Or really anything that has power steering and brakes.
