IT’S CONSTRUCTION SEASON!
Well it’s that time of year… Not road construction with stop
and go traffic. We’re talking about
building some new cabins! This is super
exciting for us because the reason we need to build more cabins is because of
record numbers of summer campers and family campers coming to camp. This will allow us to take up to 48 more people, 40 in summer camp that will hear the Gospel! So get excited about that, they aren’t just
buildings.
The first two that we are building are between Ponderosa
and the Low Ropes Course. They will have
a nice little view, and a good sized covered sitting area. Our facilities crew is braving the cold to
get started on these and they really are good at putting them up fast. Don’t worry, they will be constructed very
well, insulated and eventually heated for year round use. This one is “Jack Pine, next will be “White
Pine”.
If you are reading this and thinking… well I have some
pretty serious building skills and a whole lot of extra time, or know someone
in that boat, and want to come up and give us a hand please contact us at
218.575.2240. Larry is the guy to
connect with. We are always looking for
volunteers. For projects like this it is
nice to have some solid building skills but there are always other projects
that need to be done, even deep cleaning.
So looking forward to summer, we have 1138 summer campers
signed up, that’s 300 some ahead of last year at this time, and 1254
family campers, we had 1400 total last year.
So what a blessing, and you can see why we need those cabins! Also, it might seem early but with this kind
of growth, you will want to get signed up sooner than later to get your desired
camp.
With all of that, we do need a couple things… We will need
more summer staff so again if you know someone that would fit the mold, send
them our way. Just need a good attitude
and a love for the Lord. Also please
bathe this place in prayer! We are
blessed to have so many prayer warriors, many that we know of and many that we
don’t, so thank you! We will keep you
updated, good things!
