WHAT HAPPENED THIS SUMMER?
A lot! A lot happened this summer. We always seem to have a fantastic staff, we expect the world from them and they rise to the occasion to serve their Lord for the summer.
Camper numbers were up this year, largest summer ever so that was a blessing. Also we had way more family campers than ever this summer. But more importantly as we track (the best we can) spiritual decisions, they were also up a lot this summer. So praise God for that, that's why we are here!
Some random fun facts... We made 23 pontoon trips to the island to bring fire wood out, more than 13 times keys were locked in a car, 7241 feet of new road was created over at North Ridge (new property), we took 2630 gigabytes of video (and backed up, so double that), made a slip n slide ramp for senior high and had only 5 days this summer where there wasn't a programmed camp going on.
So much more happened behind the scenes and on the front lines with campers. I'll say it again, staff was amazing, and that is what we build everything off of because without quality people and relationships, it's harder to get the Gospel message across.
The photo above it from summer staff training, which seems like years ago, where they started to work together and learn to trust each other. By the time 9 weeks go by, these guys are so close that many will be lifelong friends, and many will soon be youth pastors and Christian leaders around the country. It's all very fun to be a part of.
So people often ask, "how was your summer"? It was a lot of things... Busy, amazing, hectic, trying, fruitful, tiring and completely blessed! Thank you to everyone who had a part in it!
