GOD CONTINUES TO AMAZE US!
Every once in a while there is an event that powerfully displays God’s amazing provision and blessing. Such events are ones that individuals, families, even whole peoples look back on and remember as a time to celebrate and commemorate God’s working.
Last year, June 20, 2018, was just such a date. On that day, our bid to purchase 678 acres of property that we already shared a mile long border with was accepted. 678 acres is more than three times the size of the original camp property purchased in 1958. We believe that this land purchase is as significant as the visionary decision our leaders made back in 1958.
This property will provide room for expansion and serve as a buffer zone for generations to
come. While it will only be trails and remote camping for several years while we continue to
upgrade and expand facilities on the original property, even as trails and green space it is enhancing and expanding the experience our campers have. BUT – there is more!
This momentous event is still showing us God’s gracious provision.
We purchased the property for $1.3 million. We had saved up $350,000 as a down payment, and then secured an almost $1 million, 25-year loan, from our partners at Christian Investors Financial. While the loan had a maturity of 25 years, our goal was to pay it off in 10 years; a stretch, but something we believed God could and would do.
Today, 16 months after securing the loan, the remainder on the loan is $66,000. This
once-in-a-lifetime event continues to be used of God to show us His goodness. God's leading and your amazing generosity has encouraged us to set a new goal, to finish off this loan by year's end, 8 ½ years ahead of our goal that we thought was a “stretch-goal”. Our good and gracious God has once again shown us his faithfulness in bigger ways than we could ever imagine. Celebrate and be encouraged!
