IT TAKES A VILLAGE: CAMP KIDS

It's one of the coolest things as a Shamineau staff member. We have quite the community of personalities, and there is a culture of fun and family. To have so many great people pouring into your kids is pretty great. They also get to experience so much here. Sometimes it's an extra opportunity to serve, sitting in on chapel times and helping / being included in some pretty amazing activities and events. Often they are given a fair amount of responsibility, with proper supervision of course. There are a some camp kids from the current staff that are grown, but there is a pretty big crop growing on up, starting to serve as SWAT, WIT, and SMTs.
The above photo is from our senior high camp. These camp kids were helping set up for an event, then "testing" the stuff. When the older kids come, they get out of the way and help behind the scenes. I like that they get to see what it takes to plan, setup and put on an event, some day they will be able to do the same.

Sometimes camp kids are around, so they get pulled into camp videos. Above is a video we call "What Matters". [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mi2m7RoV-Sg] We wanted to give people a feel for what really happens at camp. Cody here was a good little actor. It was actually pretty moving as we were shooting it. You'll have to watch it (Spoiler alert), but when he accepted Christ, it seemed like it was happening before our eyes. Anyway, check out the video.
It will be interesting some day to see where all these kids end up. I think no matter what they are doing, we have a bunch of tomorrow's Christian leaders growing up here at camp.
